All about the goldendoodle puppy stage!

The puppy stage doesn't have to be the reason you don't get a goldendoodle puppy! Read through our tips to have an easier transition with your beloved family pet!

1. Establish a routine: Goldendoodle puppies thrive on routine and structure. Set a schedule for feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and training sessions. This will help them feel secure and reduce any anxiety or destructive behavior.

2. Socialize early and often: Goldendoodles are social dogs and need to be exposed to different people, animals, and environments from a young age. This will help them become well-adjusted and confident adults. The more people you see the better off they are. Make it a goal they meet at least a hundred people by the time they are six months old

3. Provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation: Goldendoodles are dogs that need daily exercise to burn off their energy. This can include walks, runs, playtime, and training activities. Mental stimulation, such as puzzle toys and training games, can also help keep them mentally engaged. Engaging your puppy will prevent unwanted behavior and help you connect and bond with them in all aspects.

4. Be consistent with training: Start training your Goldendoodle as soon as you bring them home. Use positive reinforcement techniques and be consistent with your commands and expectations. This will help them learn good behaviors and manners early on. Training your puppy two times a day for 10 minutes will pay off in the long run !

6. Be patient and consistent with potty training: Consistency is key! Potty training can be a challenging stage for any puppy, but with consistency and patience, your Goldendoodle will learn where to go potty. Take them out frequently, especially after meals and naps, and reward them when they go in the designated potty area.

7. Use positive reinforcement: Positive enforcement in the puppy training world goes a LONG way! Goldendoodles respond well to positive reinforcement, so make sure to praise and reward them when they exhibit good behavior. This will help reinforce the behaviors you want to see more of.

8. Hire a trainer. If you are not sure what to do with any aspect of your Goldendoodle's puppy stage, don't hesitate to seek professional help from a trainer or behaviorist.
