A. Early on at Cedar Doodles we did Mini- standard size goldendoodles , over the years and a back injury later we realized we. need a size that was perfect for everything. That is what we currently breed today. They stand 15-17" tall, weigh between 15-25lbs and are not too big and not too small. This allows for you to take them everywhere with you

Q. What coat types do goldendoodles have?
A. Due to the cross of the retriever and the parent breed, goldendoodle puppy coats come in a variety of textures from straight, to curly. They can also have wavy and loose curl coats.
Q. Do you have to groom a goldendoodle ?
Yes! The trade off for low/non shedding is that they need to have their hair cut. Because they don't have fur, they have hair (more like a human).This requires the coat to be cut, because they will not naturally shed it.

Q. Are goldendoodles allergy friendly?
A. Just like the shedding question this falls into a couple different answers depending on the coat type/ cross of the parent breed. In short the more poodle qualities - Furnishings/ Hair vs Fur, the more hypoallergenic (allergy friendly) the goldendoodle puppy will be. Be sure to check with your breeder to ensure the you are getting a goldendoodle puppy that is appropriate for your needs.
Q. Do goldendoodles shed ?
A. This answer is dependent on a couple of different factors. Furnishings, and the percentage of hair vs fur in the breed cross. The poodle adds the hypoallergenic qualities to the breed that we love, Furnishings ( eyebrows, mustache and the "fluffy" to the face) , and the hair (instead of fur). The more poodle in the cross the less likely to be shedding. Be sure to check with your breeder to determine if the particular goldendoodle puppy will shed

A. A goldendoodle puppy is born with a puppy coat. This coat will change over time as they "blow" (loose) their puppy coat and grow into their adult coat. It is important to remember that they can also change textures as they make this change.

Goldendoodle coats can change with time. This is dependent on the type of poodle that was used in the breeding cross. Some poodles pass on a gene that will make a goldendoodle puppy darken with time, and some may fade with time. Regardless of color they are sure to love you unconditionally!

A. At Cedar Doodles we specialize in a loose curl/wavy coats. These are easier to maintain and to take care oof Brushing them 1-2x week is adequate.
